Travel: Lisbon is serviced by many leading airlines operating direct flights from major cities throughout Europe and the rest of the world. The city centre is just 7 km from the airport and is thus readily accessible by taxi. According to the airport web-site (www.lisbon-airport.com) the taxi fare into the city averages €15 but may vary according to the time of day.
Lisbon is a city well known for its long and interesting history and thus is a popular destination for tourists. As a result there is always high demand for accommodation and delegates are therefore strongly recommended to make flight and hotel reservations well in advance.
Climate: The weather in Lisbon in April is likely to be pleasant with temperatures ranging from 17°C – 22°C in the daytime.
Visas: There is visa-free entry for citizens of most European countries, Australia, Canada and the USA.
Delegates who need a formal invitation letter in order to obtain a visa to attend Pb2015 are advised to contact the Conference Secretariat as soon as possible. To find out if you need a visa, there is a useful website at https://portugal.visahq.com/. Asking for such a letter is not a commitment to attend, but can speed up visa applications.
Accommodation: Special room rates, inclusive of breakfast, service and local taxes, have been arranged at the Sheraton Hotel. The hotel is pleased to extend the special room rates for up to three days before and/or after Pb2015.
